Double Down Tips

What is doubling down? It’s when a player has a strong two carded total when the dealer shows a weak up card such as 2, 3, 4 or 5. The player matches his original bet in a bid to take advantage of the dealer potential vulnerability to busting.

So when do you double down?
It's easy just double down on the following hands:

You Hold Dealer Holds
9 3, 4, 5 or 6
10 Anything but a 10 or an Ace
11 Anything but an Ace
A-2 5 or 6
A-3 5 or 6
A-4 4, 5 or 6
A-5 4, 5 or 6
A-6 3, 4, 5 or 6
A-7 3, 4, 5 or 6

Just remember that you’re betting on the dealer going bust because of the number of potential cards he will have to deal himself due to the low up card. The greater the number of cards he has to deal, the greater the chance he will go over 21 and you will win.

Doubling up enables you to double your money in an advantageous position but it will cost you twice your bet so choose your hands well to minimise your losses.
